Christ was born to Die

Tonight we are here to celebrate to live and death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  

First let us look at the Good news of his birth

Luke 2:10

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

The angel of God came to praise God and to bring joy to all the people announcing the coming of the Lord.

The angel tells them who the Jesus is and what he is

Luke 2:11, 14

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

He is Christ the Lord and he is the Savior of us all.

as it was amazing thing, which was the birth of Christ,  Simeon prophesied what Christ was here to do.

Luke 2:34-35

And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

And even the Christ himself knew what he was here to do when he told his parents he had a job to do

Luke 2:49

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?

Tonight we celebrate the Christ the Lord and although his birth was a glorious things, Christ the Lord was born to die.
