Wisdom

1 Kings 2-4

Solomons Wisdom

We know that Solomon was considered the wisest man in all of creation. But that was not due to his education, even though he was the king's son and was most likely given the best tutors from around the world. it was not because he stood by his father's side and study under him as he made battle plans and decisions that affected the nation.  It was because Solomon humbled himself and asked God for the wisdom to lead the nation and to give them peace in the land.

In doing so he leads the nation of Israel to a time of peace and prosperity that is still talked about today. when you become so well know around the world and so wealth that you have kings paying you in silver for a seat at the table so they can have a lesson from you. Only for you to tell them that the silver they brought might as well be a rock in the land because God has blessed them so much that the whole nation is cover in gold. There is something different that he is doing and it is something that needs to be taken seriously. That something was the wisdom of all-mighty God.
The bible says pretty clearly that without the knowledge of God, we are but fools. If  we don't acknowledge him in our decision and in how we live then we are but fools

Proverbs 1:7 the Fear if the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
What are fools? Psalm 14:1 and 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God.

Note this devotion is not to belittle education of any variation but we have to acknowledge one thing. And it is a growing common thread. We can have all the book knowledge on earth, but without the wisdom of God in our lives, we are just fools blowing hot air.

Put your faith in God and his wisdom and judgment for your lives. Let us look to him when we make a decision and give his praise when we see the outcome.
