Outflanked

2 Kings 4-6

In 2 Kings 6, Elisha's servant was fear full of the platoon of men that gather and surrounded the city in order to siege it and take Elisha. But Elisha did not suffer from that same fear. He was not worried about what was out there for he knew what else was there. He asked God to open the eyes of his servant and that when he saw it. The armies of God in flamming chariots outflanking the enemy platoon.

Elisha did not need to fear the armies of man. The man of God was protected at all sides by God and his army. God caused Elisha's enemies to go blind and Elisha leads them into the heart of the city completely surrounded. That is the power of our God.

We read how God protected his people in times of War. He gave them victory at every turn. We are his people as well and we are at war all the time. We think there is no way out of the kill box that we see ourselves in. But you just need to open your eyes and look again. Those same enemies you thought had you cornered are already outmatched, outgunned, and outflanked by God's army.

Let us ask God to open our eyes today so that we may know that our victory is at hand.
