Servicing the Lord will bring you closer to the Lord.

'Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him. ' 1 Samuel 3:7

The Lord reached out to Samuel during the downfall of Eli and his son's ministry in the house of the
Lord. Samuel was not a judge or a priest during his time in service to the Lord. The Bible says he Ministered.
That simply means he took care of the Temple and serviced the Lord.

I looked at this passage and this stuck out to me. Samuel had a connection with the Lord, yes, He served the Lord, and that's true too.
But it is how he served faithfully. It was His faithful service that God sought after. It was him just serving the Lord.

God does not need you to be a mega preacher to follow him. God can call you to him just by you taking care of babies in the nursery. God doesn't need people in power. he needs servers.
