Don't be a taker, be a blessing.( Lessons from the Our Generation Training Center)

2 Cor. 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

This is a lesson on character and on ministry.
Don’t be a taker
On the field and on deputation we can lose sight of all the people that have helped us get to this point. Yes it was God working through us and it was God giving us the support we needed to get to the field, but it is the way that God did it that got you to the field. He opened the hearts of church members, pastors, mission boards and families to help you get to the field.  We can easily say it was all me and no one else but we would be lying to ourselves in doing so. It would be cold hearted of us to take from these people who put their faith and finances towards you. Just so you can never talk to them again.
Don’t be a taker. God called us to be servants and givers, not for our own glory or boasting but you his Glory. We should send thank you letters to the churches that support us and welcomed us into their homes and churches. We should show up to their place of worship with the mindset of how can I serve them today. Learn about the pastor and his people, learn about their heartaches and see how you can help them. Do not just go in there like you can down from heaven to talk to them for 30 minutes and then return to heaven never to be seen again. That is not the mindset of Jesus.

Every support we get, should get an update from us. They should know how their money is being used and where they ministry they support is heading. They men and women that said that they will pray for you should know that you are praying for them as well. In short Don’t be selfish and take all you can and never look back. Be A GIVER AND BE A BLESSING.
