Experience at the funeral home

“Serve the living by taking care of the dead.”

We take care of those who are left behind. According to the wishes of those who have passed away. As a Pastor we are the spiritual leader and guide for these people through all these trying times. Your job is to contact the funeral director. You are in charge of helping the family in the preparations of the funeral. Being that head, you have a responsibility to keep the family traditions. You should be respectful of the families wishes.

To quote the director of the funeral home was “The heart can only receive what the seat can endure.” basically make the message and service short and sweet and so you can keep their attention and keep their minds on what is going on. Doing the tough situation as a Pastor, we have to be their for them when the death occurs to hold them and comfort them and help them make the right decision.

If they are under the care of hospice care then law enforcement has to step in before anything can be done. They must perform an investigation before the funeral home can take over and prepare the service. During the mourning process  you will be dealing with people who will going through waves of emotions. You will have grief and anger thrust upon you and you will never know what to expect during the grieving time. You have to love them and bare it. You will see the change in the demeanor and the waves people will be going through.

When it is time for the funeral. You are their to honor God and to help the people say goodbye to their loved ones.

We help them mourn and gain closure and to show them what God can do for them.
