The Evidence and The Transformation

 The Evidence

How do you know you are saved?

When a person makes a profession of Faith, they are making a statement that they believe what the bible says and that Jesus died for them on the cross thousands of years ago. They are declaring that Jesus has paid the price for their soul and now they believe in the only begotten Son of God. As a new believer you tend to be bombarded with questions from both yourself and those around you. Sometimes at your low points you even ask yourself if you are truly saved.

In this lesson we will break down the Biblical Evidence that proves your salvation and will hopefully keep you more secure in it.

The Transformation

One of the First things you should notice in your new salvation is a desire to do the will of God. The bible says in Psalm 40:8 “I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea thy law is within my heart”.When you become a believer you become something new, your heart become a new heart and with that new heart comes a new attitude towards the things you onces held close. Like the sin from your old life. 2 Corin. 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”.  This is later confirmed in the scripture with 1 John 3:9 “ Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.”

If you are saved and are a believer then your outlook on sin and everything around or involved in sin should bother you. You should not have a desire to commit sin of any kind nor want to be around someone who enjoys committing those sins.

Application

There are so many sources of  Biblical Evidence regarding a believer and their salvation. The best aid you can receive is that of the Holy Spirit who will confirm your salvation. He will bear witness with our spirit according to Romans 8:14-16. My application is a simple one. Look into the scriptures and see how they line up with your life. If you don’t see your desires lining up with God’s, then it is time to get closer to him. Find comfort in his words and grow in the understanding of your belief.
