Dual Perspectives

Revelation 18:19; 19:1

"And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate."..... "And after these things I heard a great voice of the much people in heaven, saying Alleluia; Salvation, and glory and honour and power, unto the Lord our God."

There in these two verses, you see the dual opinions of man. Here in the first verse, you have man, the non-believer, who is heartbroken over Babylon,  which I would assume by this time is the last shining beacon of "Human ingenuity " a thriving trade city and place of business. this could easily be Atlanta or New York or San Fransico, or Any major Hub city. And you see the lost man worship this place and begin to mourn the loss of this great city. Not for the people in the city, but for all the money that was and could have been made in said city.

Then you have at the start of chapter 19 you see the saint's perspective of the destruction of this city. There is praise and worship and honor and glory given to God for the destruction of this Lost City.  This sin-filled city is gone and God has avenged the saints who have died for him.

Where the Lost see a tragedy for their pockets, we as Christians must see it as God keeping his word. Once we do that, then we must praise him and tells others about him. Pull them from that material blindness before it is too late. Let's stop mourning like loss people and let's worship like promise kept saints.
