Roman Soldier’s Sandal 

The Bible describes this piece of the armor of God as that of a soldier’s sandal. 

• This sandal was made of thick leather, embedded with nails and bits of rocks.

• Some soldiers had multiple sandals depending on wherever the war might take them. Some even had shin guards to keep debilitating blows from connecting. This was one of the most important pieces of the soldier's armor. 

The Bible uses this image to prepare and encourage believers. 

The Gospel that you Walk in. 

The Bible is clear about how the Gospel is to be viewed.

• Isaiah 52:7
•  “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; That bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; That saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!”
• It is a beautiful thing for you to go about your days and tell others the good news. 
• It is a great thing to tell those about your salvation.
• The Bible says it is beautiful upon the mountains.  You are the thing that elevates the environment around you. 
• Romans 10:25 
• “15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
• It is a beauty that needs to be shared, but how can it be shared unless we go and share it. 
• It can be at your bus stop, a family reunion, or around the dinner table. It is a beautiful thing to share with the world. 

Strengthen in Times of Fear. 

The Lord with always be with you just as the sandal Kept the soldiers stable, so will the lord keep you stable. 
 Deut. 33:25 

•  “Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; And as thy days, so shall thy strength be”
• The Lord with strengthen you and help you to stand during trials. 
• Just as iron and brass are perfected in pressure and heat. Those tough moments will not harm you, but rather perfect you in the peace of the Lord. 

Hab. 3:19 

• “ The LORD God is my strength, And he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, And he will make me to walk upon mine high places”
• The Lord will fortify you and help you to move with urgency and with a purpose. 
• He will carry and deliver you to a place far above what you thought. 

Application 

The Gospel of peace is the word of God that everyone should be a part of. And in the war against the enemy, there will be hardships, pain, and battles on all sides. You need to be planted in the peace that only God can give you. And when others see you making it through the dark times to come, you point them to how you can have peace. That way the Gospel will be spread and the love and will of God can be shown.
