Davidic Covenant

2 Sam. 7:12-16

“And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

In the Davidic Covenant, the unconditional promise God made to David during the time of his reign that there will be an everlasting kingdom. He told David that his son, not him, his son will establish build a house for the Lord forever. Now let us break down this Covenant.

The promise was made by God for David and that his seed will build him a throne for Almighty God ( Psalm 89: 3-4)

David’s seed (who is king solomon) will establish a throne, a house and a kingdom for the lord. (2 sam 7:12-13)

That David’s seed will not be judge for his sins and his iniquities. (2 sam. 7:14-15; psalms 89:30-37)

That his promise to David’s son will be forever because God will not break his promise and it is eternal ( psalms 89:34-37)

THIS IS THE WONDERFUL POWER OF GOD. He told David that that his seed will reign on the throne forever, That his seed would not be will not be without his mercy. ( vs 15) This is the promise of the Lord, that his kingdom established by the seed of David will reign forever.

The Lord is a Lord of promise and a unconditional God. He promise and commitment is as forever as the moon. (psalms 89:37)  He has established his will on the Seed of david, that God’s son will come through David (“I will be his father and he shall be my son”)  And he will establish a Kingdom, a throne, he will have a house and he will reign in there for ever, We as Christians, for we read the bible know that Jesus is the son of God, he is from the line of David, the line of shem. Christ, the living God the SON f God shall reign and have a kingdom forever.

God will never promise something that he won’t do. Just as he promised David that his son will not lose his blessing due to his iniquities, so will he not remove the blessing he has bestowed upon you when you accepted his son into your heart. He will chasten you like a father will do a son but know his son has bored the rod of man for you and and has taken it all for you. Son that will you come to the father through the son, Christ has bore the rod and took the iniquities with stripes to heal the world and to fulfill the promises that God has made for you.

If you believe that the there is only one thing you need to do. Come on home, Come home to the Father and Accept the everlasting unconditional Promises that God has made for you.
