This Comes from Ecclesiastes chapter 1

How many of us have the latest gadget on us right now? Some fancy tablet or computer or cell phone. We all chase after the latest and greatest thing and we treat it as a need. That same mentality reign true all those years ago for King Solomon. In the first chapter he hungered for more and more information, more , Knowledge, so much so it made him miserable.

Much like Solomon we are always wanting more, we have flown with the fowl in the heavens and then we wanted to reach for the stars. We developed ways to communicate with one another, then we had to make it smaller and more portable. We had the wisdom of God almighty, but we wanted to know more than what he already show us. But why? All for the sake of Vanity. a longing to seek things so that we may fill this void that we have in our hearts only to find more Vanity and emptiness. For nothing in this world is perfect, complete and absolute, Generation will come and go and the earth will be still standing, ever turning because God commands it to.

Every scholar who seeks wisdom and knowledge without placing God first and the center of all will find that their life will be just like Solomon the wise, he may have been wise, the wisest of all of Jerusalem, but in his search of "wisdom concerning all things under heaven," he saw that his search solely for Vanity and Vexation of spirit.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to know, curiosity is a human trait, but when you take God out of the equation as you hunt for knowledge, you will find yourself diving head first down the rabbit hole into madness and folly. Even a mad man on the street can have great knowledge but he still lives in misery. "For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that  increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow."

Father God I would like to thank you for your gift of knowledge and wisdom, while we are a curious nation, that is not our crime, the blatant disregard of your presence is a crime/ sin of vanity. I ask that you bless us with the humility to know that before any form of information and wisdom that we find on earth, that it was by your will that we could reach for those answers in order to gain a better understanding of you and your will and ordinance for us. May we go through out or lives, seeking you for guidance and answers so we may pass them on to the next person and next generation. In all these thing I humbly pray

Amen
