Exodus 32

We see that once Moses went to speak with God the people grew impatient and asked Aaron(Moses' brother) to Forge them False God's to replace God so they can worship and praise they way their former captors, the Egyptians did, They had him create a calf made of the gold from all their earrings. God saw that they had committed a great sin by turning their back and making false idols to worship. God was will moments away from consuming the children of Israel off the face of the earth. Only with the pleas of Moses did God showed his mercy. 

How often have we done things that we know we should've been punished for. From sin to blaspheming, we have all done something in our past that deemed punishment by the Lord Almighty, only to be in awe at the fact that he was so merciful and let us make it by the skin of our teeth.  God's great mercy allows us to know that yes we may sin but if we repent and turn away from the sin and focus on God, he will be kind to us.

Father God I have sinned and I have done wrong by you. There are time where I know you could have punished me and took me out of this world, yet you haven't. I thank you for your Grace and Mercy always. In all these things your humble servant prays
