Acts 10 , works are not enough without belief

In  Acts chapter 10 we read about a man name Cornelius, now Cornelius was a good man, he would pray to God daily and he would give of himself to every one and he loved and feared God. Sounds like a pretty nice guy right? He even fasted because it was tradition. One day an angel came to Cornelius and told him God has heard your prays and now he needs you to do and it is the only thing you have not done. So God told him to call for Peter for he knows what you are missing. So Cornelius sent for Peter and when they finally met Peter knew what Cornelius was missing, he did not believe in Jesus Christ. 

I met a man the other day with Robert, nice guy, has read the bible since he was a child, said he got saved at age 12. Told us he had read the laws in the bible and tried to live by them and he loved God and he prayed to him, sounds like another good guy right? But then sin creept into his life and lead him astray for so long, you could see the pain in his eyes. But now He knows more about Jesus and how much he has done for him and me and Robert and he is on the path to a new life and a happier one in Jesus. 

Many times we keep hearing about people thinking they can be good people and not need to know Jesus, only to watch them be proven wrong, Not just in the bible, you can just walk out your door and find a person that will say they are a good person with or with out christ. but the is not the case, for if you were a good person Jesus wouldn't have needed to die on the cross for ALL our sins. You would not be a son of Man either, for you we are the children of sin we can do will change that only by accepting Jesus,son of the living God, God himself can we get off the bus ride to hell and come home to the kingdom of heaven. 

Father God I know there are plenty of us out the like Cornelius and like mine and Robert friend who think they care earn a place in heaven, only to find out that they can't, not alone they can't. Only by believing in your son who died for us can we come home to you.and I pray more of our siblings come home to you through our brother, your son Jesus. FOr all these things I humbly pray
